Hey folks
Wow, what a day! I like to share my experience on my second mock exam. I started this morning and regarding the quant section, I had to
guess exactly 7 questions because i was running out of time. Still I got Q45! I always thought that I was weaker in quant, but this test and also the first reveiled that verbal is my achilles heel.
Maybe this is because I did not take the verbal part serious enough. I have the least problems with sentence correction but im struggling the most with reading comprehension > any suggestions how to improve this (reading long texts within 2 min!?).
So if I analyse this, I just need to improve my verbal in order to reach my desired score of about 700 in the GMAT. Will be tough, let's practice practice practice
My first mock was just 540, so im very happy now that i could improve! Thanks also to everyone on this forum for all the valuable topics and answers!
Have a great weekend

I see you are close 80%. I would say schedule one of your one-on-one sessions with the Eco GMAT Tutor Expert and see whats your % accuracy been until now in RC.
I personally do not follow EGTutor's RC startegy. I need to understand the entire thing and not just the first few lines of every paragraph. Although, I do tend to take 2-2.5 minutes to read but for the entire passage I do not take more than 6-7 minutes. Remember that if those extra 30-45 seconds can help you to understand the passage better, then by all means do not stop yourself at 2 minutes. The more you understand the passage initially, the better placed you will be for answering the questions.
Also, EGTutor's RC passages are considered to be one of the toughest ones. Why dont you try
OG's RC passages and see what accuracy and how much time per passage do you take. If you are hitting 80-85% accuracy in
OG RC passages with 6-8 minutes on an average, I would say you are on track. You can always make up for the time via SC.
Also, LSAT RCs are supposed to be tougher/denser than GMAT RCs. If you want , you can take a look at a few RCs to practice from LSAT (though not a must!)
Q45 can be bumped up to Q48-49 with a little more effort. I think with a Q45, your concepts are in place, you just have to cut yourself off for difficult questions and not spend 4-5 minutes on some of the questions. You should be practicing
OG questions in times sets of 10-20 questions so that you
1) Develop good strategies for solving the GMAT questions.
2) You get timed practice.
For verbal, give a GMATPREP exam to gauge exactly where you are right now. I will not assume what EGTutor tells me about my verbal performance. Your range is 610-690 , an 80 point range . This is a pretty big range. You can narrow is down more by giving more mocks.
Try out different strategies and see which one gives you a high accuracy with average amount of time.
Hope this helps. Keep posting as and when you give more mocks.
