April \$1.26
May \$1.20
June \$1.08

19. The table above shows the average (arithmetic mean) price per dozen of the large grade A eggs sold in a certain store during three successive months. If 2/3 as many dozen were sold in April as in May, and twice as many were sold in June as in April, what was the average price per dozen of the eggs sold over the three-month period?
(A) \$1.08
(B) \$1.10
(C) \$1.14
(D) \$1.16
(E) \$1.18

PS: Sorry for posting it again (I missed some data last time). The reason I am posting this is because looks like we are missing sth in ans choice and I dont have the OE

Here's how I was solving htis:

# of eggs sold in may = x
april = (2/3)x
June = 2(2/3)x

Av = 1.20 + 1.26(2/3) + 1.08(4/3) / [1 + 2/3 + 4/3]
= 11.44/9 = 1.28

similar approach, but i end up with answer D, 1.16

April=2/3*May
June=2*April=4/3*May

Average price = total value of sales / total sales = [May*(1.26*(2/3) + 1.2 + (1.08*(4/3))] / 3*May

My ans in 1.16

Let 3 dz eggs be sold in May

April = 2/3*3 = 2 dz eggs

June = 4 dz

Therefore avg price = (2*1.26 + 3*1.2 + 4*1.08)/ 9 = 1.16
