Reached the same answer choice but I have a question- In D, if "is" is changed to "are" will it then be correct? In the sense, is the placement of "when" correct otherwise?

Because "their" has no logical antecedent.

Most of us can only imagine the sense of grief and desolation that a homeowner must feel upon finding their house and all its contents destroyed by flood or other natural disaster.

A. upon finding their house and all its contents (Homeowner is singular. So usage of their is wrong)
B. to find his house and all its contents (Correct)
C. finding their house and all it contains (Same as A)
D. when he finds that his house and its contents is (Contents is plural. So usage of 'is' is wrong)
E. in finding their house, with all its contents, (Same as A)

I also have the same question. I think it will be - "...finds out that his house and its contents are...."
