Hi MSFHQ,

I plan on applying to M.fin programs in the fall of 2016 and would like some advice regarding school selection.

Profile:

1. Age: 23
2. Nationality: Canadian Citizen
3. UG: Johns Hopkins University, BA in International Studies (3.7/4.0)
4. GMAT: 730 (V41,Q49)
5. Summer Internships: Macquarie Capital -- IBD (3 months) / L.E.K Consulting (2 months) / Deloitte -- FAS (2 months)
6. Language Skills: Bilingual in English & Korean, Intermediate Mandarin.
7. I will be taking the CFA Lv 1 exam in Dec 2016

What do you think my chances are for LSE Msc Finance or HEC Paris? Do you have any other suggestions? I am interested in both European and US schools.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my post.

I think you will get into both schools. I'd also look at the top US programs (UTA, MIT, UVA, Vanderbilt). Great GPA and GMAT. Internships at strong and prominent firms. JHU is a great school for what you studied. Very strong profile.

Hello,

I plan on applying for Master in Finance programs starting fall 2016 and I would be very grateful if you give me some advices. I know it's a bit late but my first and only choice was RSM Master in Finance & Investments Advanced which they opened this year. Unfortunately, they made their first selection based on GMAT only, not taking into consideration any other factors and therefore I got rejected. I can still choose their regular Finance & Investments program tho.

1. Profile:
2. Age: 24
3. Nationality: Polish
4. Education: Bachelor in Finance and Accounting (8.4/10 GPA), Master in Law (8.6/10) GPA at Kozminski University in Warsaw, not a very good one but the best in Poland
5. GMAT: 680
6. Internships: 8 months in PwC M&A, 3 months in Enterprise Credit Risk Management of Raiffeisen Bank, 2 other, less relevant internships in Banking (UniCredit Group)
7. 1-year exchange program at IE Business School in Madrid

I am interested in European schools mostly, because of the financial aspect. I planned to apply for RSM only because it is much cheaper compared to any other b-school. In case I will choose to go somewhere else, I will need a student loan for 100% of tuition fee and possibly a scholarship. I thought about applying for MSF at Esade and Hec, but my future plans consider either working in investment banking in London or MMB in Poland. In this case, do you think it is worth to pay 25k euro for ESADE, compared to 2k euro for the regular program at RSM? RSM also gives a possibility of going on exchange and has partnership with such b-schools as Wharton or Duke.
