Hi Sunshine2024,

You should be smiling big right now! That is an awesome score! I work with a whole lot of EMBA candidates and I rarely see candidates score that high. Quant of 18 is particularly great.

Good luck as you prepare your applications!

Best wishes,
Dr. Shelle

I'm looking to prep for the EA. If I sign up for the TTP EAT course, do I still need to purchase the GMAT official guide bundle?

Thanks for any insights.

Yes. With any prep product, you’ll need to purchase the official guide so you have access to the official questions.

Do you recommend the TTP EA course or getting the Manhattan GMAT All guidebooks?

Hi there!

I have been lurking around MBA topic for a while (around 16 years). I spent some time for preparation to GMAT, but due to personal issues was not able to take a test (in 2011-12). Then a game of procrastination has begun (as you can imagine procrastination is one of the strong sides of me :)). Last month I decided to go for EA, since I am already too old for GMAT. I spent 0.5 hours on working day and 2 hours on weekends by solving mixed questions from all three sections for a month (only official preps - 300-question bank & 4 official mock exams)

My mock exam results:

Score I/V/Q
159 12/9/18
158 11/12/15
156 11/13/12 (smth went wrong with Quant)
158 11/9/18

Actual exam result:
159 11/10/18

I planned to hit 160+ but smth went wrong on verbal part, I spent 5/6 minutes on one question, though it was not hard. I will not retake, instead, I plan to 'polish' the rest of application. EA is small part of application process, but still I am happy that I took first step :).

Special thanks to bb, this forum is big help/resource for many thousands of people like myself!

Good luck to all!

Took the EA a few weeks ago and got 161 (13 IR, 15 Verbal, 13 Quant). Non-quant background and work in HR.

Prep:
Studied over 8 weeks primarily with TTP for quant and then used GMAT Ninja videos for verbal and IR. TTP was a lot but very thorough and gave me a strong foundation. Would recommend for quant drilling.

I also bought unofficial practice tests and question sets but did not finish them. I did three practice tests all landing around 155 and worked through maybe 30 of the quant questions. I took my first practice test a week after I started studying and was a bit discouraged when my third test landed around the same score. While I had planned to study for another week after the third test and had an in person test appointment already scheduled, on a whim I decided to sign up for an online test the next day as a low pressure attempt (knowing I would take it again the following week) in the hopes of just getting a high 150 and getting it over with.

Exam:
I found the online test experience smooth. I used a conference room at work on the weekend and would recommend doing this if it is an option for you. Schools recommend in person and think this is right as there are potentially more hiccups at home. The real test was harder than the practice exams (though given it is semi adaptive and I got a higher score than practice, this makes sense). Time flew by way more quickly than with practice as well so time management was key. I kept rough track of time to make sure I had more than half the time left in each section when switching halves.

Other general thoughts:
- Two months was a good amount of time to study with an average of 2 hours a night and more on weekends. I would recommend trying to get it done in 4-8 weeks as it becomes a real slog to have this in your mind.
- Accept that you won’t master everything. I was just done with TTP once I got to the final sections on coordinate geometry or sequences and decided to skip them. I luckily did not get any questions on these and even if I had one it would not have been the end of the world.
- Double check answers. Kind of goes without saying but with the time pressure you feel pressure to move on. I was doing a lot of careless mistakes during prep and so always did a quick check of answers to make sure I didn’t make careless mistakes on ones I should be able to get right. To make time for this I didn’t spend too much time struggling with ones where I had no idea how to approach them.

Good luck to everyone taking the EA! You got this!

Hi took the EA today,

Got 157,

IR - 12
VR - 13
QA - 12 ( i was hoping for more as i dint struggle in any of the questions, but i would have made some silly mistakes i guess)

Finished the test in dot time ,

My Practice assessment score were 156 and 160 but in both of them my quant scores were 15 and 18 respectively.

I would say practice assessment and real test center experience is very different.
I would suggest to go to a test center instead of taking it online, you would find a 3 point difference for sure , but be mindful, during my test some construction started in the net room with heavy drilling noises (lost my focus and at least 3 minutes :(( )

Did the practice assessment questions (official ones) in 4 weeks to prepare.

I hope the score is good enough for MSx and MIT sloan fellows.

Hi HariomSingh181085,

Congratulations on the strong score! It sounds like you are a bit disappointed in your quant score, but 12 is solid and 157 overall is going to be good for most top executive-level MBA programs.

Thanks for providing your perspective about taking the test online vs. in a center. We at MBA Admit.com work with a lot of EMBA-level candidates and historically we have seen that many candidates scored higher in the center, as you said. But, in the past couple of years, that has gotten much better. These days, if a candidate takes the test at home and then soon thereafter tests a second time at a center, there is not as dramatic a difference in the scores, like there was in the first few years after the EA came out as a new test. Still, I advise candidates that they might as well be cautious and take the test in the center if they are able to.

Why are the scores sometimes higher in the center? My candidates believe there are fewer distractions, fewer technical glitches, and fewer interruptions from proctors.

Good luck to those of you who are still studying for the EA!

Best wishes,
Dr. Shelle

Hi all, took EA by the end of December after approximately 6 weeks of preparation with Target Test Prep (TTP) and scored 156
IR - 10
Verbal - 13
Quant - 13

I applied to the EMBA Programs of Wharton and INSEAD and glad to say that was admitted by both over the last two weeks! I am writing this testimonial to remember to those that are unsure about their EA scores that standardized tests are definitely an important part of the application, but do not forget that they are only one part. I took the GMAT back in 2005 (yes, I am 48) and scored 750 (Q-50, 95%), but was not accepted. Now with less time for preparation, but a lot more professional experience and a solid career, I was confident enough to submit my application with a 156, although my mocks were implying Q at 14-18, so I could have done better. Yet, I preferred to invest my additional time in putting together strong essays and having qualified professionals who could provide me with solid recommendation letters. It worked this time :)

Exceptional EA Prep – TTP Elevated My Quant Skills

I recently completed the Executive Assessment (EA) and am thrilled with my results: Integrated Reasoning – 18, Verbal – 13, Quant – 13. Target Test Prep (TTP) was instrumental in this achievement, particularly in enhancing my Quantitative Reasoning skills. I had previously prepared just using the official practice tests for the GMAT and did not get the results I wanted.

TTP's platform is designed for mastery. The comprehensive lessons break down complex concepts into digestible segments, making even the most challenging topics approachable. Their extensive library of over 4,000 practice questions, coupled with detailed video solutions, allowed me to practice effectively and understand the rationale behind each answer. I could always go back and review if I didn't get something correct and look at the lesson plans to understand the concepts that I wasn't sharp on.

One additional standout feature is the personalized study plan. TTP's AI-driven system tailored a study schedule that aligned with my strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring efficient use of my study time. The smart analytics and error tracking tools provided insights into my performance, helping me strategically focus specific areas.

I also am someone that doesn't have a regular or easily worked with schedule. So this was great to not have to schedule live slots with a tutor.

In summary, TTP offers a robust and user-friendly platform that significantly improved my EA performance. For anyone aiming to excel in the EA, especially in Quantitative Reasoning, I highly recommend Target Test Prep.
