Hi Guys,
My score breakdown:
IR 5
Quant 49
Verbal 34
690
I wrote my GMAT exam today and wanted to share my experience with you.
My preparation: I did not enroll in any coaching classes, nor did I but any new books.
I just wanted to know how I would fare all by myself and bought OG 2016 and
MGMAT mocks.
Gave a test just to get used to it and was not serious about it.
AWA, a relatively easy topic was given. I copied off the chineseburned template suggested in this forum.
IR, I never concentrated on this section. My bad, the real IR was moderately tough
Quant was very easy compared to the
MGMAT Cats on which I practiced.
Verbal, Guys I panicked in this section. Got too deeply involved in the Passages and critical reasoning and lost valuable time.
When I saw my timer, I was shocked as I had 20 question to go in around 25 minutes, I panicked and I was not sure which questions to skip.
I started doing all the questions and this screwed me.
Ear plugs and gatorade helped a lot.
Now, I have got only 1.5 yrs of work experience, I have a lot of time to go. I decided to take another exam within a month or two after improving my verbal score sufficiently.
I am thinking of taking e-Gmat verbal coaching online as I am a non-native to english. Here in India, english is riddled with all sorts of mistakes and adds up to my difficulties resulting in my poor verbal score. I need your suggestions on which coaching to opt.
Thanks,
Karthik.
