Hi,
I need advice on this :
My GMATPrep scores on the New Test 3 and 4 are 680 , 690 .
But my Scores on MGMAT Cats never cross 640(Thats the recent i got)
My Split in MGMAT in CAT 6 is V36, Q42
I found the Quant section much tougher than GMAT Prep.
My GMAT is scheduled in 2 weeks .
I am really confused should i postpone ?
My Target score is 700 .
Please Advice

Hi Santosh,
Hope you are doing well. Don't worry too much about the score differences. The MGMAT Quant can be a bit tougher and more time consuming than the Official GMAT Quant. Still MGMAT has some good questions and the Quant sections are worth working on. The important thing is to review everything that you get wrong so that you learn from these tests. I would avoid MGMAT Verbal or any other non-official Verbal. If you need more GMAT verbal practice then work on the GMAT Paper Tests, Question Pack 1, and the GMATprep verbal question bank. For more challenging verbal practice you can also approach LSAT Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension but I would avoid this with only 2 weeks until your test.

Still MGMAT has some good questions and the Quant sections are worth working on. The important thing is to review everything that you get wrong so that you learn from these tests. I would avoid MGMAT Verbal or any other non-official Verbal. If you need more GMAT verbal practice then work on the GMAT Paper Tests, Question Pack 1, and the GMATprep verbal question bank. For more challenging verbal practice you can also approach LSAT Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension but I would avoid this with only 2 weeks until your test.

Hi Santosh. It probably makes sense to postpone. Most students tend to score 10-20 points below their recent GMATPrep scores on their official test due to the intense pressures of the test. So, if you want to score a 700 on the official test, you should consistently score 710-720 on the GMATPrep CATs. It might take you another 3-4 weeks of prep to reach that level. You know more about your current rate of improvement than I do.
The MGMAT CATs are a pretty good approximation of your score, but they do have more difficult Quant sections. It is strange that you are scoring so low on those compared to the GMATPrep CATs. I find that another reason to push your test date back. I disagree with Andrew, the MGMAT CATs have valuable Verbal sections for practice, although as Andrew mentioned, the OG 13 and Verbal review questions are superior. And the Question Pack add-on to the GMATPrep software is great too.
I've just published a guide to big picture GMAT prep questions like the ones you are dealing with. GMAT Clarity could be quite useful for helping you maximize your score in your final weeks of prep.
