Hi ,
I was not allowed to write my GMAT today due to a name discrepancy.
My passport has the following name :
given name:- Lxxx
surname:Mzzz Xooo
fathers name: Mzzz Xooo Hpppp
now for GMAT my registered name is:
first: Lxxx
Middle (blank)
last:Mzzz
i had read many posts stating different name discrepancies, but i didn't see any of the same kind as my last name was technically still present on the passport in the same order with the right spelling.
Has anyone else faced the same problem just because their surname had two words on the passport but the GMAT website has one? how did you go about solving it? and did they offer a compensation registration fee wise?

They will go with Passport details only. They will now any discrepancy with passport details. However, you need to update the details as per passport to appear the exam in the future. I think they consider this as an exam attempt also. In the meantime, write a mail to GMAC/mba.com for a coupon code to compensate for this exam.

You need to mention the same name while registering for GMAT as is mentioned on your passport without any changes. I don't think there is any other way to correct this
