Might also be worth checking out a gmat scoring grid to get a sense of what combos to aim for a 700+.

Hello All,

Yesterday 12/06/2022, I appeared for my first mock test on mba<dot>com and scored 510 with q=36/51 and v = 25/51 after just 2 weeks of preparation from the OG (mostly easy level questions).

I am targeting a minimum 700+ score within 2 months timeframe. What should be my study plan to achieve this score and how many full length mocks should I appear before the final exam?

Any books or course recommendations for the 2 month prep would be highly appreciated.

P.S. I am interested in pursuing a PhD in Business (MIS Concentration) and already hold an M.B.A (MIS) passed in 2010 with 7 years of full time corporate work ex. and 5 years of own business/entrepreneurial experience.

Any response is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

HI nick4ever

I am not sure whether 700+ is achievable for you or not but many have done it in past so you must be positive on keeping the deadline and taget as you have.

Your current score in Mock suggests that you need as much effort in Quant as much you need in Verbal. I don't know your comfort area but people find quant section easier to quickly improve while Verbal takes time to reach to a level that you want to achieve.

You target should be
1) Q-49 V-35 or
2) Q-48 V-37 or
3) Q-46 V-38 or
4) Q-45 V-39

To achieve the score that you have in mind. OG is great for Verbal but misguiding for Quant as it doesn't represent the difficulty level of GMAT Quant aptly.

Feel free to ask more questions if you like. :)
