Hello All,
Yesterday 12/06/2022, I appeared for my first mock test on mba<dot>com and scored 510 with q=36/51 and v = 25/51 after just 2 weeks of preparation from the
OG (mostly easy level questions).
I am targeting a minimum 700+ score within 2 months timeframe. What should be my study plan to achieve this score and how many full length mocks should I appear before the final exam?
Any books or course recommendations for the 2 month prep would be highly appreciated.
P.S. I am interested in pursuing a PhD in Business (MIS Concentration) and already hold an M.B.A (MIS) passed in 2010 with 7 years of full time corporate work ex. and 5 years of own business/entrepreneurial experience.
Any response is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
First find out what your strength area is. What do you like studying? If you like math/quants, then focus on quants and try to get 50/51 in that.. 1 month is enough. You will need 32+ in verbal to get 700+ score.
If you like verbal try to achieve 42+. Then you will be able to achieve 700+ with 44+ in quants. 42+ is verbal is very high and need more than 2-3 months of good preparation.
As I can see, your verbal is 25.. means you will need to get to 32+ in verbal and 50-51 in quants. 32+ is easy with good preparation. and 50-51 is achievable with 2 months of hard preparation. Do 20 questions each in PS and DS
For verbal, you will need a sound strategy. Skimming and gimmicks wont work. So focus on comprehension and meaning. Understanding what is written is very important. Find some videos from GMATNinja or other test preps to learn a good method. Also learn how to eliminate answers. You will surely do great in 2 months. Do 2-3 sets of RC, 10 questions each from CR and SC. Learn from your mistakes and keep revising what mistakes you made yesterday and do not repeat those mistakes.
Do this for 2 months and i think you will achieve your goal.
Best of luck
