Hello Experts,
I've recently been admitted to INSEAD FT MBA for Jan'26 intake but having some doubts over whether to join or not. Here are some datapoints that might help:
Context:
- I'm currently working in one of the MAANG companies in India in a marketing strategy role.
- I did an MBA from a top indian B-school (FMS, Delhi) very early in my career. However, outside India the brand recognition is poor.
- I have a total of ~9 years of experience working in MAANG and Management Consulting.
My goals:
- Transition to a strong career path in the middle east, preferably not consulting. I plan to settle there.
- Potentially start my own venture at some point in my career. Not a short term objective as I do plan to work at least 6-7 years in corporate to pay off my debt, be secure financially before giving this a go.
My concerns:
- Overall job market decline for MBA grads in last 2 years.
- Role availability and suitability post INSEAD given my level of experience. I don't expect a senior management position but do not want to "restart" my career again from lower level IC roles.
- Cost versus benefit analysis of funding an INSEAD MBA versus continuing to work and earn. I have received a modest scholarship but INSEAD isn't known to give full rides or cover majority tuition fee via scholarships anyway.
I am well aware that this is a fantastic opportunity but reality of 2024 and 2025 MBA graduates even from top b-schools worries me. Your thoughts/advice would be very much appreciated.
