Hello to everyone,
Last Friday, February 25th 2011, I finally had a chance to try the GMAT. I’m a native Spanish Speaker, and my English is the one I learned at high School and by reading a lot of different types of books. I was enrolled in a 4 month, four day a week GMAT course. I thought I had learned a lot at these classes, couldn´t have been more wrong as the reality has shown me, I got a 480 Q25 V31, I didn´t have any problem with the time in the verbal section, I was able to have enough to finish every question.
The Quant section was another story, the first 5 questions took me about 15min, or at least 3min each. Because of this situation I had to almost guess the final 10 questions to finish in time. I know my Quant skills need a lot of improvement, and that the problem is in my math foundations that are not that strong. In the verbal section, I do believe I can get a better score.
I’m planning on retaking the GMAT in about 3 to 4 months. I’m open to any suggestions that can help me achieve my goal of improving to at least a +650. The books I have used are:
mgmat sc, OG 10th, OG 11th, OG 12th, the two mba gmat prep cats, and the six
mgmat cats. In this second try I’ll also be using Kaplan premier 2009, GMAT MATH Foundations, Kaplan Verbal Workbook, Barrons 2007-2008, and McGraw-Hill’s 2008 and 2011 editions. Any other recommendation I’m open to it
