My name is Vignicius Curi de França, I am writing from Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and I am thinking about to apply to the full time MBA of the following Universities: Georgetown University (MacDonough), University of California (Irvine), George Washington University and University of Rochester (Simon).
Based on that, I would like to know if I have a chance to get admitted with the following resume or I should try to improve something.
I am 29 years old (June/12/1985), married (3 years) and live in Brasil – Rio de Janeiro.
I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (grad: August / 2009 - GPA 71%) and in the last four years I have been working as a Category Supervisor at Vale Supply Chain Headquarter (Iron Ore Mining Company), focused on industrial maintenance, building maintenance, cleaning, gardening, feeding, and etc. At this position I am responsible to develop the supply chain strategies and to lead the hiring processes of infrastructure and industrial maintenance services of Vale operations in Brazil. I work with a team of eight supply chain analysts and we are in charge of a USD 200 MM annual spend.
Before Vale, I was a trainee at Votorantim Steel for one year and had the opportunity to participate in a building project, commissioning and startup of a Steel Mill (mini mill). In this project I worked initially in the project area and later as supervisor of maintenance of the continuous casting machine.
Still on my previous experiences, I would highlight one year internship in the field of industrial maintenance in Michelin, four months of work experience at Aspen, CO - USA, one year of scientific initiative in college (2 posts) and one year and a half at the Brazilian Air Force Academy as an aviator cadet.
Recently, I made an attempt on the GMAT and got a score of 600 points (AWA 6 / IR 4 / Q42 / V31).
Thank you very much for your help.
Best Regards,
Vignicius Franca
