Hi all,

First want to thank this platform and everyone for the valuable resources and info shared.

I just finished test day. For 2-3 weeks I had been focusing on the quant part and managed to receive Q49.

In the verbal I failed miserably with a score of V21 although haven’t invested anytime studying it.

I had barely anytime left and had to rush through almost 20 questions.

I am most comfortable and confident with SC but the other parts I believe if I find the right resources that give me a holistic understanding and allow me to shortcut through finding the right answers I can push my score.

Any advise on what to do, I have one month to ace the verbal part.

Thanks!

Getting a Q49 is not as hard a task as getting a V44+

I think you should first know what is wrong with you in verbal section
Knowing is the first step to achieving
When you know what's wrong, start working on it
Follow this link of mine
It has helped a select few students who were struggling.
But you must first get yourself into the V30's segment if this plan is to work

V21 is not a bad score if you're doing it for that first time

Hi ibosan89,

To start, many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores, so if you've spent just 2-3 weeks studying - and you've done NO studying for the Verbal section - then there are clearly going to be areas that you have not mastered yet. To clarify, was this recent exam the Official GMAT or a practice CAT/mock?

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) What study materials do you currently have access to?
2) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs/mocks (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
3) What is your overall goal score?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi ibosan89,

In addition to advice regarding materials, would you like some general advice on how to improve your GMAT verbal skills?
