sorry if this has been asked before but are the GMAT club practice tests computer adaptive based on your performance? I ask because i took the 2nd test and the majority of questions were hard difficulty wise even though I didn’t answer a bunch of them correctly, so I thought the test would adjust in difficulty but it didn’t

It takes a few successive wrong answers to change the difficulty especially if you have a long streak from what i have noticed

this is embarrassing but i did have quite a few incorrect answers. so i’m surprised the difficulty did not change

They are adaptive but we start you up at upper medium level and a number of topics are only present in hard difficulty shape such as probability or combination questions for example example so even if you are doing terribly, they’re just not enough easy combination questions to give you (this is just an example). The same happens on the GMAT - you may be doing really well but they’re just not enough hard fraction questions for example example to give you a hard fraction question so you’ll get an easy one instead. The difficulty is not quite proportionate in all cases because sometimes it’s not possible to get the exact difficulty needed.

Yes, both the sectional and the full tests in GMAT Club Tests are adaptive. The situation you describe can happen if you answered a batch of hard questions; the system may take some time to lower the difficulty, even if you missed several of them.
