There’s no certainty to that. If you have final plans to write in September, I would suggest not to reply on the new format.

If two integers are chosen at random out of the set {2, 5, 7, 8}, what is the probability that their product will be of the form a^2 – b^2, where a and b are both positive integers?

A. 2/3
B. 1/2
C. 1/3
D. 1/4
E. 1/6

Hey guys, can anybody tell me why the 10 and 14 do not meet the question

a=26, b=24, a^2-b^2=10^2; a=50, b=48, a^2-b^2=14^2

I have put in some thoughts in the original discussion thread. You can access the post using the link below -

if-two-integers-are-chosen-at-random-out-of-the-set-2-5-7-8-what-114579-20.html#p3183552

Feel free to revert if the solution is not clear or if you need further clarity.

That question is disused in detail here: https://gmatclub.com/forum/if-two-integ ... 14579.html Hope it helps.

Please post GAMT quant and verbal questions in respective forums.
