Hi Guys, I’m new to GMAT Club. I just scored a 390 on a mock exam with zero prep and I’m looking for a good prep course. I have found this source https://testprepinsight.com/best/best-g ... p-courses/ which is fairly convincing to go with Princeton Review. What do you think?

Hi everyone, can you suggest MBA consultants for Tier 2 Bschools, mostly for shortlisting schools and essay writing?

We have not seen great results with Princeton ... maybe they have improved but in the past it was not very robust. They emphasized more tricks than knowledge. If you are looking for an in-person course, MGMAT would be the best option.

It is tricky as usually people ask for a consultant recommendation and then after they check the price, they say they want both cheap and good, so I don’t have any cheap recommendations. You can check the Marketplace and filter by price and see what works: https://gmatclub.com/marketplace/admission-consulting

I live in Abu Dhabi UAE so online is the only way to go for me.

I know close to nothing about this so out of curiosity why Tier 2 and not Tier 1 and what are the Tiers... is Tier 1 top 20 ?

Is gmatclub specifically for Target Test Prep students?

No it’s not. Target Test Prep just has a lot of consultants and advertisements here. You can succeed with it or without it

How does it work?

TTP is 100$ more expensive in UAE than it is on Youtube videos

MGMAT has tests. Experts global. Kaplan used to… but I think they got replaced with the Manhattan tests. GMAT Club has tests as well that are free. And there are two versions of the GMAT prep. GMAT classic and GMAT focus. They use different tests and different questions.

So technically you have for free official tests which is pretty awesome.

Hi everyone. Wondering if I could get some advice regarding switching to the GRE from the GMAT.

I have been studying for the GMAT for almost a year now. I’ve always been a strong English student and tend to have a better time with the Verbal than the Quant. Just took a mock today and scored only 450 (a 78% scaled score on Verbal and abysmally only 2% on the Quant). This is alarming given the amount of studying I have put in (I’ve used the Manhattan books, OG, and completed several units on TTP for as long as I could commit to paying for the program) and the amount of practice questions I’ve been through. Though I definitely panicked on Quant and had some timing issues, I’m at a loss on what to do right now as I want to apply to my target schools end of March 2024 (both have a recommended GMAT score of 600). I feel my application is quite well rounded otherwise, it is just this exam that is holding me back.

Would I realistically have a better time with the GRE? I’ve heard from many candidates who have said they find it less challenging on the Quant side. I’m wondering if I should cut my losses now and just switch. If anyone has advice to offer would very much appreciate it!

Are you referring to the tests?

We try to make our questions follow all of the GMAT principles tested in the GMAT and the language and wording and complexity as well (not having excessive calculations as a rule). However, that's easier to achieve in Quant than in Verbal. There is a general opinion that for the last part of your prep, it is best to polish your skills with official questions for verbal. However, I have personally tested this rule and proved it wrong in my prep when I did not use Official Guide, and only used Kaplan Verbal questions (which I noticed were different enough from the GMAT Prep tests) but it did not bother my score of V42... though maybe I would have scored higher if I used only official questions. But even I agree - Official Verbal questions are clearly better, there is no argument

wow... 2nd percentile? Did you leave a lot of questions unanswered? Though doing only some sections out of all of math is probably not going to get you far but 2nd percentile is very rough.
I think you can totally try the GRE. The quant portion is indeed easier but not THAT easier. I am thinking the 2nd percentile has to be a fake value. Try a GMAT Club test. You can take quant only and not do the whole test and see what you get. I gave you a 24 hour subscription if you want to give it another shot. Just don't leave any questions unanswered... and try to hurry up and guess if you are running low on time.

P.S. Switching is pretty easy and makes sense for a low-quant score test-taker.
