Hi guys. I have a bachelors in Computer Science (2017 batch) and I want to pursue a JD-MBA from one of the premier institutes .. I have no LLB or any consulting experience. Do have a GRE from 4 years back with a score of 325 (167 Q/158 V).. Preparing for GMAT seems like a good first step .. what else would you guys suggest?!

Any suggestins would be appreciated ..

HI Guys, I am new to GMAT club. I took the free practice test, and got scores - Q(86), V(83) and DI(64). I wa not able to complete the DI and was able to answer 16 qs only. Any suggestions on where to start the prep for improving speed and accuracy in DI?

this test was given without preparation, I am working with limited time to prepare for GMAT, but can dedicate upto 3 hours daily and more on weekend

That’s a great score!

That’s a great quant and verbal score. Your data inside score was much lower because you didn’t finish a number of questions.

I think the best source of data insights preparation I have seen is the GMAT Ninja videos

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLn5y ... ZomqIvgAIR

But overall, it doesn’t seem you need all that much prep 👍
I would suggest taking the official mba.com gmat prep test as well to make sure you get as close as official as possible score.

And keep in mind that leaving questions unanswered on the GMAT is heavily penalized so it is better to answer them wrong then to leave them unanswered.

Hi
I have my exam next week.. I am planning to do practice tests 3-6 by then
I have taken practice tests 1 and 2 twice each and got the below results
Test 1 attempt 1 - 615
Test 1 attempt 2 - 625
Test 2 attempt 1 - 715
Test 2 attempt 2 - 615 ( I couldn’t complete DI section - Scored 84 in quant and 82 in verbal)
I am finding hard Verbal and DI qns difficult to solve at the moment.
Does someone have any suggestions on what I should focus on right now ?

I would suggest focusing on the issue that happened to you in the Test 2 - never ever run out of time, which means you have to have a rigid timing strategy... so that you get a 715 instead of 615. That’s all you have to do.

and hard Verbal questions do not have an easy solution. A lot of them are about small neuanced things and gut feel and scope

But if you can keep your timing under control (which does not mean you solve every question - it just means you stay in control of the time and guess if you have to)

You have 1 week left and Verbal is a BIG category. You can maybe get better in assumption or conclusion questions but not sure you can master All Verbal in a week before the test. I would identify areas where you can improve and pursue those specific areas to make it less overwhelming and more actionable.

had same issue, could not complete the DI, turns out I found recently that its better to answer it wrong and move forward, rather than letting it eat your whole time. Missing each question gives 3% penalty (just read on some post).

The 3% penalty was before, when the test was longer. Now the penalty is higher... it is really punitive. (nobody knows exactly besides it is bad).
