Dear all,

I am a beginner preparing for the GMAT Focus Edition and plan to take the test within the next 3-4 months. Currently, I am struggling with the verbal section and would greatly appreciate any recommendations for the best free resources available to help me improve.

Your assistance in pointing me towards useful materials, practice questions, or study guides would be immensely valuable.

Thank you in advance for your support.
hey, i’m in the same boat as you my plan for now is to follow gmat ninja’s 13 week study plan there’s a lot of resources and yt videos gmat-ninja-study-plan-week-400295.html you can supplement with mgmat all the verbal online or gmat og !

best verbal resource on reddit : you can search "Best verbal resources + reddit on r/gmat (i’m not sure if this is allowed to send, i’m quite new here as well)

Hey guys I’ve been doing my mocks and getting scores of 500 Ive only been studying for about a month using the OG books. I’m running out of time on verbal and having to rush. I have my first test in two weeks im quite nervous. I don’t need a super high score Any tips? Appreciate it!
if you have a chance to reschedule your exam, you can try it, if you feel not seeing the desired score in 2 weeks.

hey
do GMAT Club Full tests overlap with individual Quant tests (there’s an option to take individual tests)? What about custom tests? I want to take some custom tests before the actual GMAT club full test.

Hello. GMAT Club Tests have a database of roughly 1300-1400 questions and you can take them in a number of ways - you can take sectional, full, or custom tests. You will not see repeat questions - all will be unique BUT you have ability to exhaust some of the types of questions or tests, so you have to decide how you want to use up those 1,400 or so questions. Do you want to save them for Full Tests? Then you can take 20 Quant sectional and 3-4 Verbal and not attempt any DI sectional tests OR if you want to use them for sectional practice, and use official mba.com gmat prep tests for full test practice, you can do that along with custom tests. The system will give you a warning if you are about to use up a whole bunch of tests in Custom tests.

Hi JBranner,

I don't think there's any such penalty. Keep in mind that this is different from not finishing a section (before the review section). If a test taker runs out of time during the review section, the test will simply use the initial response.

By the way, many test takers review questions and then decide not to change their initial response.

Hi there, anyone up for profile evaluations and bschool suggestions:

Here is my profile:
Hi there,
I recently finished my undergrad in engineering with degree in Information Technology from Tier one institute in India and am now looking at Mfin and Quant Finance programs. I have a few programs that interest me, but not sure about my chances with any of them, so any comments, ideas and recommendations will help.

Profile:
Undergrad: really low (6.07/10 on Indian scale) BTech in Information Tecnology from prestigious Indian engineering university
GMAT (I have not given but targeting 700+)
No workex as of now(but planning to do an internship at commercial bank(not an investment bank))
Plan is to get into to finance roles after graduation (most likely in Europe, Asia(like Singapore, Hong Kong) but possibly in the US)

Reply will be appreciated.

I am new to the fourm if any chat for chance me please redirect me to that

I won’t official test reports before the application deadlines . the application portal asks for GMAT scoresheet, what would I be uploading here, if i don’t have official scoresheet till then.

Hey everyone,

I am need of advice and guidance. I made the decision to go back to school two weeks ago, and that’s when I began my GMAT prep. However, I am now 4 weeks away from my test date and I do not have a set study plan. I utilized the first week to learn the format of the GMAT, but by the second week I completely fell off track. By the second week, work was a lot and came home tired every night. Now I’m trying to pick back up the pieces but all I can see is now I have less than 30 days to prep. What should I do? I’m thinking about moving my test date out 2 weeks and take it online instead of a test center, but the school I want to apply to deadline is November 1st.

best you can do is take any good course online as it will give a structured study material, and then go full preparation mode. I have seen some people made 555 to 705 in one month only...it depends now on you, where is your starting point, how much you can give time to studies, etc.

I am a fan of self-study, but given your circumstances, it is highly likely that due to time limit, you would not be able to efficiently use it
