A few points to consider:
1. If you are an ORM, then you need to score at least 30-40 points more than the average of the schools you will want to target. Only you can gauge when can you hit this goal - in your first attempt or retakes.
2. Without a score in hand, you should not select your target schools. (this is the chicken and egg situation now).
3. A score is a hygiene requirement. Once you have score in hand and have shortlisted schools, then the uphill journey called 'applications' begins. For crafting a strong application, you need to a) attend webinars / events, b) network with adcom, students and alumni, c) prepare CV, d) write essays, e) identify, prepare and work with your recommenders - all while continuing to do your regular job.
4. You can control everything. The only thing you cannot control is the clock. Your runway now is less than 60 days for R2.
5. Recalibrating your goal from R2 in Jan 25 to R1 in Aug 25 may not be a bad choice at all.
