Hi all,

I am a person with accounting and finance background. I am a Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, CertifiedFinancial Analyst(CFA).I have over 7 years of experience in the field of accountancy & taxation in India. I am currently working in a Financial management company in USA.

I want to switch my career and go into investment banking. Can someone plz suggest doing a Masters in finance is a better option or MBA. Considering we now have masters in quantitate finance which is a STEM recognised course.

I have not attempted to give GMAT as of now.

If you’re already a CFA charter holder, I don’t know if a masters in finance will add as much value as an MBA for an investment banking role. IB’s deal with people, and do as much sales and negotiation as they do valuation. I think given your background, an MBA from a good school might make you a more well-rounded candidate for IB.

That’s jus my take though. Maybe some IB analysts could weigh in.
