I didn't say e-mail them to ask them how their summer is, I said send an e-mail telling them how much you really want to get into the program. Ask if there is anyone you can talk to about it or ask for an interview. I did. They told me don't worry about it.

I had one buddy who got wait listed at Cornell Law, and he called them about three times a week to tell them how much he wanted to go. They let him in. I'm just saying showing some serious interest can't hurt. All business? This is about applying to b-school and being a well-rounded applicant, not crushing a poison pill. Just some friendly advice, take it or leave it.

I think 2MuchFun is giving good advice here. There's a fine line between telling them how much you want the admit and coming off as being desperate but I think you have nothing to lose at this point. I had a friend who was waitlisted for the FT program at Columbia and got in 2 days before classes started. He had politely called the AdComm several times. When he received the call from them, he was told that he was perceived as being "politely interested" which is why he got the admit.

Good luck to those waiting.

All,

I have been an observer of this forum ever since I submitted my Langone application in April. It's been a long journey and you all certainly helped me along the way.

On Jun 12th, I was put on the waitlist. It's been two month since that day, and I just received the final verdict yesterday (Aug 13th).

I GOT IN!!! :-D

I just like to share this good new with all the forum members. The adcom is certainly still going through the WL candidates. So if you are on the WL, don't give up your hope just yet. Your acceptance letter may come in the near term.

Can wait to meet you all.

Here are my stats:

GMAT: 660, Q49/V30, AWA 4.5
GPA: 3.7 Business Administration, University of Texas as Dallas
Work experience(WE): 5 years in financial services industry.
Race: Asian
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Extra-curriculars:
- New York Society of Securities Analysts member
- CFA Charterholder

ps: CFACharterholder22, thank you for your dedicated support of this forum. As a fellow CFA charterholder, I am wondering how many CFAs are in this class. Do you have any information?

660 isn't a bad score, so I wonder why you weren't accepted initially w/o the waitlist. You seem to have a very solid profile.

Either way, congrats and glad to see someone come off the waitlist successfully!

After I got the WL notice, I did send the Adcom committee an email stating my interest in the school and assuring that i will definately attend when admitted. I also included some recent updates in extracurricula activities.

I knew that the reason they put me on the WL was because of my low GMAT. But I decided not to retake the exam because I wouldn't be able to improve my score by that much in a short time period.

To answer langonefall08, I don't know if my name is in the database or not. I don't have the package yet, so I can't log on to NYU's system. I think the password comes with the official package.

455 makes more sense because it is divisible by 7 (as in there are 7 core groups). But still....438 in the DB right now. I am very nervous.

JerseyGirl has a very strong profile, don't understand why the AdCom has made you wait for so long...

Congrats dude ...

FYI - Just got my Kroll approval and welcome e-mail ... I only registered with them last week. Go figure. Must be because I'm such an upstanding member of the community. Ha.

They must have all gone out this afternoon as I just received mine and I started the Kroll process just two weeks ago. It's nice to have the official green light.
