The agonizing wait continues into week #5. At least the admit DB does not appear to be filling very quickly.

Tuesdays seem to be "action" days so maybe tomorrow.

quick question for those who took the GMAT more than once...

by how much did you improve your score the second (or third) time around?

i took it twice but got the same lousy score despite studying like crazy

I took it twice. First try, I scored 590 with only two weeks of preparation. I then realized verbal was my weakness, then totally concentrated in verbal for around 6 weeks and scored 650 the second time. Hope this helps.

Same thing happened to me. 2 weeks to study, got a 590. Lacking in verbal. I plan to take the test again after hammering the mgmat verbals. I can only hope for a 650.

i have a feeling that for the people picking more than 1 program, the adcom are still allocating us. perhaps that's why it's taking them longer to get back to us? arggh... i know from last semester, they didn't start rejecting people until the very last day, which is really really cruel. =(

I'd kill for a 650. i studied for 2 weeks before my 2nd test and thought i was ready. oh well, i guess next time (unless miraculously i get accepted) i'll take more time.

I was notified of my acceptance on Weds Oct 3, so this week will mark the 2 week deadline for the people who were in my acceptance group to submit their deposits and confirm their attendance.

I would guess that once the number of declines is known, they'll send out another round of acceptances...

Does the admissions office ever offer interviews to applicants to Langone? If so, what is the purpose of the interview? Is it a good sign? Just in case anyone knows.....

Re: Interviews [#permalink]
i don't think langone ever conducts interviews since it's part-time. but i'd say it's definitely a good thing (assuming you're good at in person stuff). at least you'll get an extra opportunity to convince them that you're good.

trying_not_to_suck, when did you hear from them? today?

i don't think waitlisted is a bad thing. it's actually a nice way of them to tell you that they're actually thinking about taking you and they're just waiting to see what you're going to do about it in the next month or so. i'd take the gmat again if i were you. also, this is actually better than getting waitlisted 2 days before 12/1 and got rejected on 12/1. best of luck!
