Does the admissions office ever offer interviews to applicants to Langone? If so, what is the purpose of the interview? Is it a good sign? Just in case anyone knows.....

I got invited for an interview yesterday. I am meeting with them next week at the nyc campus. Have you recvd an invitation for interview as well?

Hey sixtnsense,

Did "you"ask for an interview or they themselves are calling you for an interview?
Does anybody know if it is a good sign or they want to check the validity/genuinity of your work experience/essays,etc?

As others have said, I'd assume that the interview is a good sign.

After all, they're not going to spend the time personally meeting someone who they're not interested in having as a student in the program.

It should be a good sign, however this is the first time I am hearing of an interview call for Langone.

i think this is great that you got invited for Interview. I have never heard Langone interviewing anyone, thought this is for full time candidates only. Good luck.

Per my assumption,they are giving preference to Diversity of candidates,so I would suggest all Indians around to stay relaxed and keep their fingers crossed.

I have been. I see 6 indian names out of the 18 in the student database.

GPA: 3.1 - BS in Business, Concentration in Finance
5yrs Experience - I-Banking

Today is two weeks from the earliest notifications for Spring 08 (at least that I am aware of), so I'd bet we'll see other folks here who receive their status update emails too.
