All — I've unfortunately had an extremely poor experience in the FT MBA here at Stern throughout all aspects of student life (Careers / Financial Aid / Experiential Learning / Events / Community) except Academics (since the professors are good).
I want to believe it's an anomaly, but having spent so much time and money out of my historic and future career, I feel I have to sit and regret a bad decision coming here. This is especially after I hear factual experiences (not opinions) of friends from other schools, including Cornell, CBS, Yale, or Wharton in the region.
Careers - Highly unsupportive with on-campus processes (Investment Banking), and totally unresponsive for off-campus processes (Consulting, which basically is nonexistent for internationals). Off the international crowd, I'd say less than a handful have had summer internship offers in IB, and absolutely zero in Consulting. No networking support, they just hand you over a bunch of Excel sheets containing a few alumni's names in meetings. No planning, no assistance for connecting with the 100,000+ alumni we have in the industry.
Financial Aid - Now, this might be controversial, and by no means are people who got scholarships undeserving of them. But the pattern is very random and doesn't reflect the merit criteria that Stern has set up to hand out scholarships to people. They are very picky about scholarships and tend to end up giving scholarships to a bunch of people who don't really need them. There are no need-based awards. period. This means many potential meritorious MBA candidates won't study at Stern because they don't have a financial background good enough to finance this exorbitant privilege, which should have been a way to a better career & future.
Events - no funding, no admin support, and no structures.
Community - I felt literally no sense of community here. The upcoming batches might have it worse. The systems inherently divide the 'community' into people with specific backgrounds (I mean the wealthy ones and the others), or those basically studying for free (and those who pay the full money). There won't obviously be any bond in such a situation.
Again — my experience may be an anomaly. So feel free to give your take. But may internationals are regretting coming here and are now stuck both in career, and social life.

Don't wanna give you false info, bro. Ask current CBS students and try to reach out to a variety of students, rather than those with only your background/career aspirations. I imagine in NYC, CBS is the better of the two, but I may not know the full story. They also have a larger batch size so I'm not sure what to say.
Recruiting-wise it's slam dunk better imo.
