If the ratio of infielders to outfielders is 7:4, and the ratio of pitchers to outfielders is 5:3, then if we pick one player at random from the county-wide baseball team, what is the probability that we will pick a pitcher?

I/O = 7/4
P/O = 5/3

Let's multiply the first ratio with 3 in both numerator and denominator and
Let's multiply the Second ratio with 4 in both numerator and denominator

I/O = 21/12
P/O = 20/12

i.e. I : O : P = 21 : 12 : 20

Probability of Picking a pitcher = Pitcher / Total = 20 / (21+12+20) = 20 / 53

Answer: Option E

21:20:12

P of Pitcher ; 20/(21+20+12) ; 20/53
