Hi Rishav7,

Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores, so if you've studied for just 1.5 months, then there's a reasonable chance that you could train to score higher if you put in that additional study time. Since you're not facing an immediate application deadline, you wouldn't necessarily "need" to take the GMAT within the next month. In addition, it's still not clear what you SCORE GOAL is - nor the details of how you scored on your practice CATs (and both of those points are determining when you should take your Official GMAT.

1) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) What is your overall goal score?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi

I have been studying for 1.5months and I am done with all the guides of OG. Along with that, I have also completed Kaplan800, Manhattan Advance Quant,
and some additional questions from random sources.
I have been getting around 710 in mocks (Have given two mocks). I am planning to give GMAT in next month but I won't be applying to colleges this year. So, I wanted the advice on whether I should go for Online or In Centre GMAT.
If you scored(under test conditions) 710 in GMATprep Online whiteboard or Online with physical whiteboard and if that is near(+-30) to your target goal then you should definitely give the online mode test.
Consider visiting the link https://gmatclub.com/forum/760-q49-v44- ... l#p2543413. It should be helpful.

I believe you should go online. It is cheaper and more convenient. No AWA is tested.

Furthermore, taking online gmat doesn't count toward the quota on how many GMAT tests one can take. FYI. there are limit of 5x times in a year and 8x in a lifetime.

Hi Rishav7,

To be honest, there are pros and cons to taking the GMAT at the test center versus at home and where you take the test is really a personal decision. The good news; however, is that if it comes down to it, you could give the GMAT a shot at both your home and the test center. Of course, if you have any further questions related to your GMAT study plan, feel free to reach out. Also, here are some helpful articles:

Hi Guys!

I need advice on whether one should go for online GMAT or in centre GMAT as there is no AWA section in online GMAT. I will be most probably applying to colleges next year or year after that. Also, centers nearby my home are open so I have both the options.

Thankyou!

I would rather take it online due to Covid.

My main concern is will colleges I will be applying to in the future will consider my Online GMAT as there will be no AWA. Will it affect my application negatively?

Hi Rishav7,

Unfortunately, there is no way to know how Business Schools might interpret Applications in the future that include an At-home GMAT Score. I suspect that if a School wants to 'test' your general writing skills when you apply in the future, then the School might have you write an additional essay. Of course, it's also possible that since most Schools currently do not put much emphasis on an Applicant's AWA Score (typically, a 4.0 or higher is all that Schools are looking for), then not having an AWA when you apply won't matter at all.

Hi.
I have done my system check and taken care of the other requirements for at-home online GMAT.
Can I book the slot for the next hour whenever I feel ready?

I was able to select the next hour's slot. Also, I was redirected to the payment page after I selected the slot. I didn't make the payment though as I was scared if something goes wrong. I think I will book my slot for Tuesday if my today's mock test goes well.
I can see that in GMAT official site, it's mentioned that "you can select slot 24 hours prior to the desired slot".
Either this statement isn't correctly framed or coders who created the site have messed up. I can say this on the basis that I can select slot for the next hour if that slot is available. So, "can" isn't the apt word, IMO. Why not use "don't select" or actually disable the slots button for the next 24 hours?
Also, I gave 3 global experts test ,and scored 720, 770 and 700 (messed up in quant in the last test - scored 49) in that order. Are global experts test accurate?
(PS: I can't give official GMAT mocks because I have already completed GMART PREP question bank on GMAT Club for verbal.)
I appreciate that you replied ScottTargetTestPrep :)

Hi ScottTargetTestPrep. I scored 750 in my last mock before actual GMAT. I ended up scoring 710 in my mock (Because I panicked ,and wasn't able sleep for 2 nights before the exam). I will reappear again in December. I will try to book my next for the next hour next time ,and keep you updated about that. I have a small doubt. I scored 5 in IR (Maybe due to lack of sleep and preparation). Is that a matter of concern? Do schools consider IR in the selection? Do I still have the chance ,with 5 IR and 710 (50Q/35V) score, of getting into some good enough colleges?

If your overall GMAT score beats the averages, then I think you will be OK with an IR score of 5.
