Hi everyone,
I am from the Philippines and internet service here is really bad. One of our best suppliers of internet is experiencing technical difficulties, providing unreliable internet recently. I decided to use my phone's data instead. My data is faster and more reliable for the GMAT exam.
But does anyone know how much data (in GB) will be consumed by the entire online GMAT? I will need to ensure my data is enough to cover the entire online GMAT tomorrow, including video streaming with the proctor and the actual exam itself.

Good question. I am not sure that anyone has measured it but you can calculate it. It obviously depends if your connection is high speed or goes up and down in bandwidth.... but here are the general assumptions assuming highest quality at east level of the camera:
360p—300MB of data per hour
480p—500MB of data per hour
720p—1.5GB of data per hour
1080p—3GB of data per hour
Your webcam is likely the 720p and it likely won't use up anywhere close to 1.5GB but that's the worst case scenario.
You can also test it for 6 mins with the a friend using zoom, skype, etc and see how much data was sent. You can see it in networking.
I would guess you will use under 3GB for the test and definitely under 5. Anyone has a better number?

Thank you for responding! Do we have an option to select the video quality? I am not familiar whether the quality will depend solely on my webcam or will it be based on the selected streaming quality by the proctor (or me).
I used my external webcam, google meets, and data while taking the GMAT prep 4 a while ago, and I utilized around 1GB. Although my environment is almost the same as that on the online GMAT, I still think that I will consume data greater than 1GB since I do not have someone on the other side of the google meet. I am thinking of trying a zoom meet with my other phone while using the data and then extrapolate the resulting consumption. After which, I will combine the data consumption from both these tests to evaluate how much should I maintain as a minimum on my GMAT exam tonight.
I will let everyone know how much will be consumed after I take the GMAT. Such information are essential for GMAT online preparations.
