Opening test centres in UAE

Question

I called on of the test centres in Dubai and i was informed that the center will re open on the 3rd of May. However, i have already registered for the online exam as i am not sure yet if the re-opening is confirmed.

Does anyone know how can i confirm if that is true? As i need to know whether i should prepare using a whiteboard or a scratch paper.

Hi. I think it really depends on the local regulations and instructions. May 4 it’s just a week away so it seems that it would likely open as expected.

PS. It appears, You can by the way take an online test and an in person test without a wait period of any kind. So you could take the GMAT online on May 3 and then take the GMAT in person on May 4. If you were crazy of course

Hey Karim,

This is crazy!

I mean Dubai just relaxed the norms and allowed restaurants and Essentials to be open , how come GMAT is essential?

Does this means that GMAT can now not be given anymore via home for those who haven't scheduled?

bb   carcass , planning to give GRE by 10th May, what do I do ? Should I register for the exam kr wait for it?

So im guessing they offer GMAT online even for countries where test Centres are open? Taking a Gmat online would be a good prep before the in person GMAT, however, this can only be done once the in person is confirmed. As only having the choice of taking the online exam means that i need to prepare a lot for the whiteboard thing. Which is soo annoying you cant imagine.

Will update everyone once i get any confirmation.

haha, but restaurants are not essential either. I am not sure if it's an either or. Because currently i am registered for both exams, the online and the in person. However, i am hoping the test centre opens up since the GMAT online is soo bad and annoying.

However, i think for GRE it's different since you can use a scratch and not a whiteboard. Hence, i think you're good to go for the 10th of May regardless if the test centres open or not.

Ya Salam,I am not even registered yet for the 10th of May.

It looks like offices are re-opening but then it is Ramadan too so the timings also beed to be adjusted even fkr the GMAT centres.

I just hope that atleast ETS allows us to give the exam for the period of May.

My FB, Instagram.and even Quora is flooded by recurring adcerts by ETS and GMAC both flounting tests from home with a *mark that the exam.is limited time only.

The online exam.should stay irrespective of whatever happens to Corona.
