Hello,

Need some advice on Oxford essay 2. I have been able to write a 1700 word tight essay which should be decent, if not great.
Should I try to diverge a little bit from the main theme, and try to make use of 2000 words or Do you suggest me to keep it at 1700.

any thoughts ? Had you made full use of 2000 words.

Thank you.

Hello,

Does any one here know what is the address to which IELTS score card should be sent to for Said Business School? I am applying in round 1 and would really appreciate a quick response.

Thank you :)

Hi,

you don't need to stretch it out to 2000 words. I stopped writing after 1400 words and I also know someone who wrote 900-odd words and was accepted.

goodluck!

I have a few questions about the reference letters for Oxbridge:
1. How much long should those be ? Is there any prescribed length ?
2. If I add the referees now and save my app, but do not submit, will a mail be sent to my referees so that they can start preparing their writeup ? Or do I need to submit the whole app ?
3. Can I provide a peer reference for oxford, along with a manager/supervisor referee ? I know I can, but is it advisable ?

I'll defer to the Oxbridge guys on specifics -- but consulting firms and banks will usually hire for their global operations, meaning you pick the city/office you want. There are also some American companies that hire from the British MBA programs as well, but most likely for their London or other overseas offices. Google does this at LBS, for example.

If you were a US citizen or had work authorization, I'm sure you could apply to the US locations of these companies if you wanted to, but it would depend on the company.

Hey everyone, hope the essay writing and applications are going well.

Am finishing up the Cambridge application and noticed that there doesn't seem to be a place to include a CV. Is anyone able to confirm that that is the case - no CV is required from them? I think they would be the only application where that's the case!

Thanks in advance.

I cant find a place for CV as well. JBS applicants of previous year might help us here.
Also do you see any place to attach transcripts ? I could just see a section to upload degree certificate only.

You can only upload one document (500 kb). This should include transcripts and degree certificate. Very less allowed space, that's the only option they have.

Are you sure about this ?

Also, does anybody know if they give another chance if some document is missing ?

Hi all - and sorry for the long silence!

About the CV - last year, JBS did not ask for a formal CV, but they had a section on career progression where people usually put the information that is usually included in CV.

Regarding this 500Kb limit - yes, it was quite hard to include all the transcripts in one file, but it is possible if you reduce the pdf quality. Try to include every transcript you mentioned in the app, and if it's really impossible, try to contact the admissions ASAP and ask for their advice.

Good luck! :)
