Ok, so I have been preparing for GMAT for about 5 months now.
first 4 months were really just studying various concepts.
But this past month I have scaled up my practice, and I've given a few practice tests
to gauge my potential as I'm planning to take the exam in March.
these are my practice test scores:
Feb 02, 2022 --
e-GMAT -- 580 -- Q37, V33
Feb 06, 2022 --
e-GMAT -- 640 -- Q41, V36
Feb 21, 2022 -- GMAT Official Practice -- 660 -- Q49, V31
Feb 25, 2022 --
e-GMAT -- 710 -- Q50, V36
Feb 27, 2022 --
e-GMAT -- 600 -- Q45, V26
I was really improving on my scores.
But I am struggling to understand why this has happened, and would want some suggestion on how to proceed.
(Most of the questions wrong are of CR/RC)
HELP!!
Hi
nimanchaBecause you seem to be genuinely looking to find reasons for this score, so here are a few
1) GMAT is the exam of consistency and momentum both. Now, I am assuming that you have been consistent but keeping momentum high for such long period is not easy and rarely possible so I believe that you need to be certain of when you wish to take exam. If you had taken a suggestion in beginning stages then I would have suggested to limit your prep time to at most 4 months
2) You seem to be sticking to the study material of only
e-gmat. No offence to their material as they have done best job to their understanding but you need to go beyond and ensure that you touch down to the best sources available for preparation which are Official guides (
OG, Quant and Verbal Review, Advanced Guides, Official mock exams Pack-1 &2) and Manhattan Review books and tests. You will find the links of free GMAT mock test in my signature and will find the quality-wise analysis of tests in the thread.
3) You shouldn't take one aberration as a reason to doubt our progress made. It often happens that one test taken in bad mood or when you are not feeling at your best results in a dismal score so that score shouldn't judge you.
Take more tests and then let me know whats you progress in second GMAT prep mock and we can review the situation once again.
