Hi getmytaxi,

Since it sounds like you're just beginning your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can take 2 for free at www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 3.5 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have that Score, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

I am planning to join GMAT so what is the procedure to be followed for applying for GMAT?

How to crack this exam?

Which is the best coaching institute for GMAT?

Hi getmytaxi,

You can register for GMAT on the official mba website. But I'm sure there's lot more time for you to do it. And regarding the preparation, you can start by taking an official mock from the same website to see where you stand. Once you do that, you can start learning the concepts of each topic.

Instead of an institute, you can go for an online course as it provides you all the content on a single platform. I personally used GMATWhiz and found it helpful. You can check that out. I suggest you to get in touch with a mentor to understand the right study strategy and then get started with your prep. All the best :)

Hi getmytaxi,

You can go through this article to understand how to prepare for your GMAT. And I would suggest you to check out the free trials of the courses and then choose the one which suits you better. But make sure you evaluate the courses on the right parameters. You can go through this article to understand a few key factors that you should keep in mind while evaluating the online courses.

If you are open to suggestions, I would suggest you to check out the free trial of GMATWhiz. It provides you with a personalized study plan and it is an adaptive course which helps you work on your weak areas. If you wish to have a detailed discussion regarding the study strategy or the resource, you can get in touch with me using the below link.
