I am wanting to create a round robin schedule with 8 players divided into 2 teams of 4 people over 4 rounds.
I have created the below schedule but it doesn’t work perfectly !
Group 1 Group 2
Round 1 E A H F B D G C
Round 2 F B E G C A H D
Round 3 G C F H D B E A
Round 4 H D G E A C F B
This hasn’t copied properly. For example, Round 1 has two groups of 4: EAHF & BDGC
Is it possible to cover every combination of player in 4 rounds?
If not, what is the best schedule over 4 rounds?
How many rounds would be required to cover every combination of players?
