A piece of work is done by a big machine in 20 days, while the same work is done by a small machine in 30 days. They started the work but after six days due to a technical problem in the big machine, it started working at 66 2/3 % of its efficiency. In how many days does the work get completed?

Combined rate of 2 machines, R = 1/30 + 1/20 = 1/12
Reduced efficiency rate of big machine, Rbr = 200/300 *1/20 = 1/30
Let rate of small machine be Rs
Let number of additional days it takes to complete work after initial 6days be D
Total work done
W = 6*R + D*(Rbr + Rs)
1 = 6*1/2 + D (1/30 + 1/30)
1/2 = D * 2/30
D = 7.5
Total days = 6+7.5 = 13.5
