Let's calculate the work done by both machines in 1 day:
Big machine: 1/20
Small machine: 1/30

Combined work in 1 day: 1/20 + 1/30 = 1/12

Work done in 6 days: 6 * 1/12 = 1/2

Remaining work: 1 - 1/2 = 1/2

After 6 days, the big machine works at 66 2/3 % efficiency, which is 2/3 of its original efficiency.
New efficiency of big machine: (2/3) * (1/20) = 1/30

Combined work in 1 day (after 6 days): 1/30 + 1/30 = 1/15

Time to complete remaining work: (1/2) / (1/15) = 7.5 days

Total time to complete the work: 6 days + 7.5 days = 13.5 days
