Hi Guys,
Please review my profile below and let me know if it is worth applying to ISB.
A total of 6 years with more than 5 years in the event management software industry. Speicallly working with the clients who are into MICE events. I am B.Tech (Mechnaical) from U.P.T.U with 73.08% and 10th and 12th with decent percenatge. (>75%). I have a low GMAT score of 600
(46, 27, 6). Extra crricular not many to show. I don't have any social service experience either.
I would like to explore new avenues and my goal is to make a transition (function and industry). I want to go to a B-school to learn more about the business and explore more about entrepreneurship. ISB will give me both of these but I am worried about my low GMAT. Will they even call me for an interview?

Hi Aditya,
While your overall profile is pretty good, a GMAT score of 600 will not be enough to merit an interview call from ISB. You should look at raising this score to around 670 at least (preferably 700+) to have a realistic chance.
Social service experience is not a pre-requisite for admission, and extra curriculars will need a deeper look to determine value. Still, that can be overcome. Focus on raising your GMAT for now. All the best!

Hi Aditya,
I see potential in your profile - but there are a few weaknesses as well.
1) What did you do at work? This is important. Was your role a regular techie role, or did you get the opportunity to develop and showcase your talents in a PM/Sales and Marketing role? What kind of accomplishments do you have?
2) Your GMAT is low - that will probably work heavily against you.
3) School/College academics is fine.
4) Extra-curriculars/Community service leadership will be important if you don't have much to show under normal work experience - see point 1 above.
