OK! Thanks a bunch! :)

Also, another thing that's been bothering me -

A. I, along with John, are going to the party.
B. I, along with John, am going to the party.

Hope you'd help me with this too!

Yup... the phrase 'along with' does not compound the subject. Thus, in the sentence given, the subject is 'I'
Since 'I' is a singular verb, the right answer is Option B.

The same rule follows for the following phrases:
together with
as well as

Can anyone help me figure this out pls:

The rule says: When a noun or pronoun precedes a gerund, it must be in the possessive form in formal English.
E.g. They resented his not telling the truth.

How will this be if the object is a first person pronoun (instead of a third person pronoun, as in the example above)?

Which one will it be - They resented I not telling the truth. They resented mine not telling the truth. Or They resented me not telling the truth?

in these questions, whenever in doubt, replace the pronoun with who, whom and whose..
if who fits in... pronoun will be I, SHE, HE etc...
if whom ... me,her, him...
if whose... mine, my, his her etc..
They resented whose not telling the truth.... They resented his not telling the truth...
the difference between my and mine... this is my book .. and this book is mine...

Dear Team,
With reference to following statement taken from "GMAT Ultimate Grammar book", I am unable to understand the use of "His". According to me, it should be "him".
They resented his not telling the truth
They resented whom not telling the truth instead of "They resented whose not telling the truth'

Kindly suggest

Thanks in advance
