Solution:

Refer to the picture:

We are told that the height of B from AG is 12. Which means \(BH=12\).

We also know that the height of C from BF is 8. Which means \(CI=8\).

We are asked height of C from AG. This means we need the value of \(CJ=??\).

If we look closely, we will notice that length \(IJ\) will be the same as \(BH\) because the distance between 2 parallel lines remains the same throughout.

Thus \(IJ=BH=12\).

Hence \(CJ=CI+IJ=8+12=20\).

The right answer is Option E.

since AG, BF, and CE are parallel height of C from AG =the height of B from AG + height of C from BF = 12 + 8 =20
(E) is the answer IMO

Shift the two given heights in one line.
Bingo !!
Thats the required height.
12+8=20

E is the answer

This question talks about perpendicular distances between parallel lines

Property used : If three lines are parallel to each other, then the lines perpendicular to those three lines will also be parallel to each other

Essentially saying that the lengths mentioned are additive to obtain height of C from AG

Therefore,
height of C from AG = height of C from BF + height of B from AG = 8 + 12 = 20

Option E
