 \frac{(x^2-1)}{(x-1)}=x 
 => x^2-1=x(x-1)  only if  x !=-1; 
 =>x=-1  (not a sol)

(x^2-1)/(x+1) =  /(x+1) = (x-1)

(x-1) = x, there's no equation as x gets cancelled out, we are left with 1 with no variable on the other side.

A is the correct choice.

We need to find how many roots does the equation  \frac{(x^2-1)}{(x+1)}=x  have?

\frac{(x^2-1^2)}{(x+1)}=x 
=>  \frac{(x-1)*(x+1)}{(x+1)}=x 
=> x - 1 = x
=> -1 - 0

Which is NOT POSSIBLE 
 => There are  NO SOLUTIONS  to the given equation.

So,  Answer will be A
