If we look at divisibility by 8...we need the last three digits, i.e., y84 to be divisible by 8...we have 5 possible values that y can take for this to be true...these are 1,3,5,7 and 9
oh yes right got the same numbers

These are correct pairs. X+y can either be 2 or 11

Can someone help me with this old question of the day
A certain company has 500 employees split among three divisions, such that there are at least 100 employees in each division. An $8,000,000 benefits budget is to be distributed among the three divisions, and a division will be considered underfunded if it receives no more than $10,000 per employee, and overfunded if it receives at least $40,000 per employee. How many divisions of the company are overfunded?

(1) If the amounts assigned to each division are rearranged such that each division receives an amount that had been assigned to another division, there is no possible rearrangement in which any division is underfunded.

(2) If the amounts assigned to each division are rearranged such that each division receives an amount that had been assigned to another division, there is no possible rearrangement in which any division is overfunded.

The answer is D

Prabhat. The formulae you have used for both steps are right.

However, the ideal approach to take is that you know looking at both statements that you will be able to calculate P; which in turn will be able to give you the $ interest for 3Q

Hence both statements independently give you the answer without having to even write the formulae.

Is this approach right?
Faster way will be 20/4=5% per quarter compounded after every quarter
So 11025 for 2 quarter means principle amount would be 10,000₹

Thats how you can get answer faster this will consume less time

Okay

The no of adults and cost incurred is obviously directly propionatal to each other as one increase will cause another also to increase.

But what’s the relationship between day and adult, direct or indirect?

I mean, there’s an easier method, I just am confused if No. of days and No. of adults are in direct proportion or indirect proportion

It’s easy on Cost and no of adults, they are directly proportionate as no. of adults increase will increase the cost as well
