https://gmatclub.com/forum/if-two-points-a-and-b-are-randomly-placed-on-the-circumference-234196.html is there possibility of getting question like this in GMAT focus edition tests? Geometry + probability?
While specific geometry knowledge is not tested on GMAT Focus, not everything involving shapes, volumes, or areas requires specialized geometry knowledge. The area of a square or rectangle, the volume of a cube or rectangular solid, and the Pythagorean theorem are not considered specific geometry knowledge by the GMAT and can still be tested. Moreover, a question can involve shapes but test another area, such as combinations or other topics. There are several questions involving these concepts in the GMAT Prep Focus mocks

Search: if-x-is-an-integer-and-y-3x-2-which-of-the-following-cannot-be-a-168233.html

If x is an integer and y = 3x + 2, which of the following CANNOT be a divisor of y?

(A) 4
(B) 5
(C) 6
(D) 7
(E) 8

y is not a multiple of 3, actually it’s 2 more than a multiple of 3. Therefore, since y is not a multiple of 3, it cannot be a multiple of 6 either.

Answer: C.

Answer: C.
But if you put values of x=0 y->2, x=1, y-> 5, x=2 y-> 8. 4 and 7 are also not fulfilling the equation. Why do we select 6 only and not 4 and 7?!

You should read the question carefully. The question asks: which of the following ***CANNOT*** be a divisor of y?

6 CANNOT be a divisor of y, EVER. All other values CAN be divisors of y for specific values of x. For example, if x = 2, then y = 8 and 4 IS a divisor of y. If x = 4, then y = 14 and 7 IS a divisor of y.
