Hey guys I had a query late

hey, guys I had a query lately, I have prepared from the gmat official book and I found out that it is very easy in comparison with gmat club questions, so if my aim is for 705+ , is gmat OG enough for that ?

Between 645 to 655
Official mocks are good representation of the actual scores and if your target scores are higher than this then IMO you would need to supplement your OG practice with other sources as well. I personally found OG quant to be on an easier side than the actual exam. I am not saying that people haven’t scored higher than this with OG alone , but if you have time before exam, you can always add relevant sources for practice, such as LSAT for verbal and GC quant. For DI, unfortunately there are very limited resources and in fact OG DI is itself hard to comprehend.

Hi, Probably not the right platform, but I have a small doubt if-x-4-and-y-6-then-x-1-2-y-1-2-x-y-248643.html can we not take root2 common from numerator and the denominator?

You can take root2 common from numerator and denominator and cancel it. When you do that, you will get (root2 + root3)/(root5). This can be further simplified by multiplying and dividing both sides by root5. This gives us choice D.

Resources on GMAT Club. You can select 655+ questions and If required, you can also take GMAT Club’s sectional mocks for Quant. There are some really good questions there.

My score in official mocks is 615-625. Not sure how should I improve. I have done some of the GMAT club sectional mocks too

IMO you should analyze your mocks (if not done already) and try to see if there’s a common pattern (botched-up timing , particular topic etc.) which is holding your score. Systematically work on the weak areas accordingly.

It’s a combination of two things - timing and silly errors.

what-is-the-value-of-xyz-218047.html#p3376600

even with the solution, I’m unable to understand this -- why can’t be consider -- xy(1) - xy for statement 1 -- that way any number*1 = same no., so ans will be 0

For statement 1,
xyz-xy= 0
xy( z-1) = 0
xy= 0 or z= 1 . We are not getting a single value for xyz , so it is insufficient.

xy(z-1)=0 so basically xy can be anything if z=1 so statement 1 isnt sufficient ,the same is the case with statement 2 because if z=1 xy can have any value and if you combine both statements still you cant find the exact value of xyz as it can take multiple values if z=1 so both together arent sufficient
