Hi
mbaMission Team,
Thank you for this great initiative and your time.I would like to know your opinion about my profile.Below are my stats:
25yo,Indian,female applicant in IT domain.
10th:87%
12th:73%[Due to an accident which would make for some good essay fodder

]
B-Tech in Information Tech:83%(within top 20 students in the branch[The University is one of the best universities in the state though not NIT/IIT?VIT]
GMAT : 710(M 48, V 41,AWA 5,IR 1)
[Would this help me stand out a bit as in Indian applicant pool, verbal is generally the one that dips? That IR 1 is really upsetting me but from all i have read,it can be ignored if i apply to the right schools where my profile is competitive.Am i right?]
I do not want to spend more time on GMAT as I have already spent 6 months on this and my work has been suffering due to this.
Work Experience - 2.9 years in IT industry right now. Will be 4 by the time of admissions.
I have been with Infosys in Cloud domain for a while and have had two promotions. Was placed into fastrack training and interned and joined right after grads.
Worked on developing a solution to track and assign students tracks, create educator schedules, assign educators to the new cohorts, create batches etc.The solution handled all the activities of the new inductees in Infosys. This solution was later merged with the official system and is currently being used.
Selected for the development of the Immigration and Compliance system for Infosys which is and end to end application which takes care of all VISA and immigration related activities of all infy employees. This was a crucial project and directly under the board of directors.Worked with teams from all over the globe to come up with the strategy and development of the application which was successfully launched and year back and has been rolled out for more than 65 countries. This was a great learning experience for me as i could see the entire life cycle of the project and later interacted with the users and resolved/mitigated the flaws in the system.I had the opportunity to understand the immigration system for all these countries and work with teams based out of all of them though no international travel was undertaken.
Currently working as a developer/analyst for BHP Billiton petroleum SharePoint cloud portal. This role has pushed me more towards an inclination for the MBA as i get to see the business side of the IT domain. My job involves preparing/analyzing the performance of all the systems, preparing reports which are presented to the client, monitoring progress on the deliverables, mentoring new inductees with the functioning, explaining any discrepancies found between expectations and outputs etc. SharePoint ,cloud is a really good field to be in right now and analyst role here explains my interest in going for tech management.
I have been promoted twice in my stint and was nominated for the highest appraisal rating by my lead during the first project.
I have a lot to talk about in extracurricular activities. I have completed grad school equivalent degrees in Indian classical dance as well as music.Performed at many events in school.Conducted many events in school in dance. Was selected to represent the state in NCC republic day camp. After teaching underprivileged kids for a month at school,i brought this up with my family and raised funds to renovate the primary school in our native village.Took classes for poor children for free during college with the help of three other students. All of them are now employed respectably.
Conducted many events during college.Vocalist in a band that won the techfest in college, had many other gigs that funded all these side initiatives.
One of the core members of a team that formed a club that initiated groundbreaking events like a new library for avid readers, exhibitions for talented students, peer discussion and help forums etc.was appreciated by the dean.
Part of a a club at work which takes up holistic development of rural communities.Teaching at schools, building libraries, arranging session for people seeking employment, facilitating classes on alternate sources of income for farmers etc.
Event manager for the current team of 100 for team building activities, events, excursions etc.
Initiated a drive to distribute slippers and food packets to homeless people in the city every weekend with a group of like minded people.
I have come up with an initial list of the following schools.I want to confirm if the the Safe and reach tags on these are justified as i can't decide that and don't want to end up making safe schools reach ones.
Georgia Tech: Scheller[Dream]
Pennsylvania State Univ: Smeal[Dream]
BYU : Marriott[Dream]
Kelley : Indiana[Reach]
USC Marshall[Safe?]
Eller[Safe?]
Katz[Safe?]
WP Carey[Dream]
UIUC[Safe?]
Mays[Safe?]
UCLA[Reach]
Warwick[Safe?]
Krannert[Safe?]
SMU Cox[Safe?]
Smith- Maryland[Safe?]
I have chosen these schools keeping in mind that my score and profile might be competitive here and i might land a scholarship as my finances are a wee bit problematic

.This is my primary concern and i want to be evaluated on this ground too. Please let me know if my selection is justified or i need to go even lower in rankings.
I am interested in tech management/general management as i want to stay in tech domain to do my degree some justice. Long term goal is to move into a top level at a reputed firm in the consulting division ,maybe foray into the domain on my own as a private consultant. I would also like to somehow align it with the social causes i am passionate about so working with NGOs as a consultant to expand, streamline, enhance their operations using technology or for the non-profit/CSR practices of a reputed firm is my dream job function

.
Sorry for the long post, just hoping it made your eval easier.
TIA and Regards,
Ralph
