Hello mbaMission,
I was hoping you could provide some insight on my profile. I would like to get an idea of what schools I should consider applying to. Schoolson my shortlist are: UCLA, McCombs, Duke, Foster, Owen. This is a very fluid list and willing so add/delete based on recs.
25 year old White Male
BBA Finance and Management from a probably not well known state uni: 4.0 GPA
GMAT: 650 (Q 44, V36)
WE : Will have 4 years at Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor and analyst for two Global Institutional Consulting teams
Community : Serve on the Board of Directors for three organizations: Big Brothers Big Sisters of NM, BBBS Foundation, and the 20-30 Club (a childrens charity non-profit).
Post MBA goals - Transition to work in either marketing or consulting, haven't decided exactly what yet (but I will by applications).

Hi there,
Thanks for your post; sounds like (from very brief info) your professional experience is solid, but with a 650 chances will be slim at UCLA, Duke, McCombs... is a GMAT re-take an option? Keep me posted on that and what else you are looking for in a school... most schools will do well preparing you for either consulting or marketing, but there may be schools considered slightly stronger in either area too.... for more on selecting schools, check out our free download at:

That you for the response. Yes I will be retaking the GMAT in about a month. I feel confident in a score bump. Probably a stretch for something massive though. For example if I land at a 680-690 (obviously hope for higher but being conservative) would this bring McCombs or Duke back into the fold?
