Long term - launch my own venture capital fund in India or lead a VC firm
Medium term - Partner in VC firm
Short term - Join a VC firm post MBA or take up a challenging position in an established startup.

My ideal college is Stanford. However, if you can suggest my chances of success in Stanford, MIT Sloan, Insead and Wharton. Or can you suggest me the colleges which will best fit my profile.

Hi, and thanks for writing! Given your profile details, a few considerations:

- Your age/work experience puts you above average for applicants to full-time MBA programs. While it's not impossible to get in with 10+ years of work experience, it is challenging - you'll need to make an especially strong case for why NOW is the right time for an MBA
- Venture capital typically requires finance experience as well as startup experience. Check out this Career Primer on VC for more details on career path and recruiting: https://shop.mbamission.com/products/ve ... eer-primer
- While 720 is a solid GMAT score, I'd aim for 730+ given your competitive demographic for top US and International programs. Regarding other programs to look at, it depends on 1. desired geography post-MBA 2. career path (ST and LT, since VC is difficult to enter post-MBA but may be a more viable LT option), 3. cultural/class size fit

Hope that helps to start - let me know of any follow-up questions!

Hi,
Thanks for your response and feedback. I agree that getting into VC job direct from college can be challenging and it can be more long term option. The career primer in your website is quite comprehensive and gives a good overview of the same.

Can you request your thoughts on the following for my profile -
1. Is moving into consultancy(energy vertical) a viable option considering my age. I have a strong background in energy industry.
2. Does age becomes a disadvantage in terms of job search and limits you to some very specific roles?

Amit
