Hi Experts,
Could you please evaluate my profile for the top MBA programs? Thank you in advance. I am targeting this year's round 1.
Demographics - 24, Indian, Male
Educational Qualification/ Achievements
1)Graduation GPA: BTech (Electrical Engineering) - 8.55/10
GMAT: Unofficial score 720 (Official score not received so far)
Work Experience (Total 2 yrs) -India
1)Management Consulting Exp (2 yrs) - USA's leading Management Consulting firm with 7000+ employees in 70+ offices worldwide
- Sector: Energy
- 1 Promotion: Research Assitant > Analyst
- Leadership experience: Led 10+ projects worth more than $500k. (all clients from the US)
- Received 5+ company awards for outstanding performance.
- Co-authored a white paper which was later appreciated by the industry experts
- Represented Indian Junior staff (50+ employees) at the company-wide Junior staff program and raised their concerns with the top leadership.
International Exposure
1) Worked and interacted with the US Clients
Extra-Curricular:
1) Joint Head at College Festival
2) Sports - Represented college in the Inter-technical University Sports meets for 3 years.
Post MBA Goals:
Primary - Want to transition from consulting to the industry side.

1. Is my profile good enough to be considered for the top10 colleges (US) and ISB
2. Can you suggest achievable schools with my current profile? Are these reasonable choices? Are there any schools that are better suited for my career choices and profile? What are my safe target colleges?
3. Would like to know what are the main weakness that you see in my profile. Any other areas of improvement?

You might have a shot at the bottom few schools, but it's going to be a stretch. Your GMAT score is good but not great. You are on the younger side and your work accomplishments, while very solid, don't seem game changing enough yet. Your career goal is too vague right now to evaluate (that's easily solved.) Lastly, your extracurricular activities are rather thin. You are also coming from a very competitive demographic.
2. Can you suggest achievable schools with my current profile? Are these reasonable choices? Are there any schools that are better suited for my career choices and profile? What are my safe target colleges?
You should consider schools in the US that are closer to the 10 - 25 range. Those seem more appropriate for your profile to get to that reach/target/safety balance we suggest for our clients.
3. Would like to know what are the main weakness that you see in my profile. Any other areas of improvement?
I would consider retaking the GMAT to even get higher than a 720. You are right on the cusp! That's important for Indian male candidates, especially those on the younger side. You also really need to improve your extracurricular activities. There are many ways to do that but you are short of time if you're going for R1. In all honesty, I would hold off a year on applying as the extra time could work very favorably for you if you are targeting Top 10.
