@Vsakp - some thoughts:

1. Your academic arc is good. While the undergrad grades aren't ideal, the GMAT, US Masters and work-ex can help compensate.

2. Your work-ex is strong, given the Amazon and AT&T brands. Were there promotions in your roles? Would like to understand your key projects/ achievements, international exposure etc. to assess better.

3. What are your career goals post-MBA? Selecting the right mix of schools is a crucial step, which would directly impact outcomes. FYI, the top B-schools for consulting, finance and tech careers are here, here and here

4. EC's present good angles. Remember that recency and consistency are key in extracurriculars, and quality trumps quantity.

I'm hosting a webinar this week on "Strategies to Unlock US Top-15 MBA admits" with a Ross (and Cornell/ Tuck) MBA candidate. If this interests you, details and registrations are here

Hello Vsakp,

Thanks for writing in.

Good to see the Amazon experience and extra-curricular achievements. You definitely have a profile that is suited to the T15 programs; however, your exact selection of schools should be dependent on your career goals; at the same time, though, you must include a couple of schools in the US top ~20 in order to balance the risk out.

Suggestions pertaining to other schools can only take place after a more detailed profile evaluation. Feel free to reach out to us for the same.

All the best!

Hi Vsakp,

You seem to have some of the right things in place - US Masters (though from a second-tier school, sorry!), decent GPA, and very good company brands.

Your GMAT is slightly below average for the cohort you belong to - Indian Male Engineer!

While you should consider applying to T15 schools, conversion depends to a large extent on the overall leadership you've demonstrated at work.  A fair bit on EC's and other-life stories as well.

I would encourage you to keep an open mind and consider a few safes as well.

Best,
