Hi Jon
Firstly, thanks for providing evaluations. Your generosity with advice proves your experience to potential clients.
I am 31, Australian, Male.
1) Worked in Sydney, London, York (UK).
2) Gmat 770. Q(51) 97% V(44) 98% Final 99%
3) Macquarie Uni, Australia, Actuarial.
GPA 3. I had a medical condition (ezema and asthma) which required 1-2 hr daily treatment. After I graduated, I resat and passed the 8 exams which I got Pass at Uni via the Institute of Actuaries.
4) Set up a funding page for a Christian group for disabled people. Help organise christmas plays for disabled children. Played guitar at weddings as a part time job.
Helped set up a business in London, helped analyse and transition a business in China, startup a web app business in Sydney, helped save a business from administration in Mauritius.
5) Qualified Actuary. CFA lvl 1, got bashed and robbed 3 days before my lvl 2 exams. The CFA was further study because i was curious.
6) Start business in Sydney (should I say China? which is more "diverse"?)
7) I have travelled to 20 countries in Europe, Canada, US, etc, met different people, adventures, etc. Not relevant?
I am hoping to go to USA or the UK.
My concern: my GPA. How high or how low should I
realistically aim? I would like to know my "place" and not waste time applying to those I have no hope. Top 5? 5 to 10? 10 to 20? any suggestions?
Your article
"so-how-do-you-overcome-a-low-gpa" (cant post link) inspired me to aim for a high GMAT. I could get higher, but I read that would make me look like a weirdo.
Also, should I bother mentioning my CFA and it what detail?
