Thanks in advance for your thoughts and feedback.
I want to know where I stand before I start applying to colleges this year. As we are still in the midst of the pandemic a sense check seemed prudent. I am looking to apply to a Canadian EMBA program (one that gives a GMAT waiver is preferred). I am in Toronto but I still work for my previous company based in India. The company is happy to let me remotely work indefinitely and it a great place to work.
My profile is as follows
Age: 35
Nationality: Canadian PR / Indian
Education:
Masters in Commerce (Business Management) - A Grade
Bachelors in Management Studies - A Grade
Advance Dip in General Insurance
Professional Experience: 12 years
Currently the Head - Ops Risk at a leading life insurer in India. Lead a small team that looks after Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity and various management driven projects for the company.
10+ years in the risk consulting practice of Big 4's. Helped insurance client with develop and implement risk management frameworks, strategies for insurance companies in the emerging markets, conceptualisation and go-to-market for a risk management tool. Worked with leading insurers in Middle East, India, Europe, UK and North America

I appreciate all this detailed information. You definitely have a compelling profile. I am glad that your company is permitting you to work remotely making the Canada EMBA a viable option.
One question that will be critical to understand is why are you getting an MBA when you a Masters in Commerce (Business Management) and Bachelors in Management Studies? Those two degrees, coupled with your work experience, would seem more than sufficient to the naked eye. Is your company requiring the EMBA specifically? The onus would be on you on in your essay specifically to outline the reasons for why this is required beyond just growth/lateral movement.
Other than that, I think you would be a compelling candidate. You obviously want to identify those EMBA programs that are continuing to waive the GMAT as that may soon go away as things start to open up. You could also just take the exam and see how you do!
