­Hello all,

Looking to get my profile evaluated for the ISB MBA program - 2025 Intake.

Nationality: Indian

Academics:
B.Tech, Computer Science Engineering - 68%, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi
12th - 85%
10th - 89%

Work Ex: 6 Years
Currently working as a SW Engineer in Delivery Hero
1. Responsible for re-implementing a software solution for restaurants. The product process orders worth $700 Million yearly
2. Implemented several systems that reduced the cost of doing business and increased revenue.
3. Implemented processes to improve the efficiency of the team

Before this, worked for Apparel Group, one of the top retailers in GCC
1. Have experience leading a team of 7 here
2. Implemented the e-commerce site of the company from the ground up
3. Succesfully led one of the engineering squads during major sales event
4. Developed internal tools that greatly improved the efficiency of sales & creative teams
5. Promoted from Junior to Senior position

Worked in 2 small scale startups before this
Was responsible for entire tech infra along with SW development, reduced IT cost during Covid by migrating the entire tech stack to an affordable cloud provider
Implemented the e-commerce site of the company from the ground up
In one of these startups, dealt directly with customers for support purposes along with SW development

Have also interned with the Anti-corruption department of a state Govt. (Not sure if this is of any help)


Also, have dealt with a severe autoimmune disorder(although finally diagnosed just 2 years ago) since I was 15, had several surgeries(for other health issues), not sure if this can help explain the low percentage in Engineering

@duaraghav ­- Your profile has some strong angles, but the GPA is unfortunately low. While the personal reasons could help offset it to some extent, aiming for a strong GMAT score (ideally 675+ GFE) should be your focus now.

Having a strong narrative covering your personal/ professional journey, post-MBA goals, and how the MBA/ ISB fits in would also be crucial.

­Hey! You have a pretty stellar profile and while you fall in the overrepresented pool of tech applicants, you have significant leadership stories and initiatives you have taken that can make your profile stand out. This is what you will have to articulate really well in essays and interviews. Along with this, you need to have crisp and clear post-MBA goals and how MBA/ISB will help you achieve those. Btw if you're trying to get into Product Management then you can consider IIMB as well.­ 

You can use dealing with autoimmune disorder as a personal story and highlight how it shaped you personally and what key traits you developed (which would help you in a professional context as well).

Now since you will be from an overrepresented pool of applicants, try to score a 675+ on GMAT.

­Hello duaraghav,

Hope this finds you well.

The start-up experience, career progression, and impact stories at work will contribute towards strengthening your case. The essays for ISB will give you ample opportunity to talk about personal setbacks and you should definitely mention your health battles and how you have emerged from there.

To combat the low GPA (which you absolutely should look at combating even if you have a solid reason for scoring low), you should aim for as high a score as you can. A strong GMAT score coupled with a well-thought out application (including well written essays) will give you a strong chance at ISB.
