Hi vvbhvvv,

Your extra-curricular activities are what stand out in your profile and you should truly make the most of the same. Rest, considering your low GPA and a tech profile, we would strongly recommend that you aim for a 685+ even if that means putting your application on hold until next season. A higher GMAT score will also help offset the low GPA.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

Hi,

I am planning to apply for ISB PGP program.

10th - 9.6 CGPA (2014)
12th - 88% (2016)(PCM)
Graduation: 6.6 (Btech Aerospace Engineering) from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies

Work experience in total is of 4 years.

I have worked in Infosys for more than 3.5 years now as a Senior System Engineer in Product Lifecycle Management domain.

I had a little exposure of entrepreneurship as I did try a little as a side hustle which later on proved to be a futile attempt due to lack of deep understanding of content marketing dynamics.

Co-curricularly, I had been head of dramatics society and Literary Club of my university. Won the best director award at annual theater competition. Also, did MUNs, International Rotary events as a speaker. Running a youtube channel where I use to speak a lot about history of India and also travel.

I have been preparing for GMAT for past 2 months now. And I will be giving my exam on 29th October 2025. I attempted 2 linear style mocks where I am scoring around 580.

Can you please help me in evaluating my profile for ISB and if you have any other piece of advise I am all ears!!

Thankyou in advance.

Dear vvbhvvv,

One glance through your profile tells us that while your academic performance has been about average, where your profile truly stands out is in your extracurricular pursuits. These are all self-initiated efforts that reflect a distinct and thoughtful dimension to your personality and, from an essay perspective, hold strong potential to highlight different strengths and learnings.

Even your entrepreneurial attempt, though it may not have worked out as expected, can be a valuable addition to your application if you are able to clearly articulate your key learnings and reflections from that experience. Business schools appreciate candidates who show initiative, resilience, and a willingness to learn from setbacks.

That said, a good GMAT score will be critical in strengthening your chances of securing an interview shortlist. Based on our experience, a score in the 645–655+ range in the GMAT Focus Edition could place your profile in a strong position.

We do see potential in your overall journey, but we would love to hear more about your work experience, the impact you have created, your entrepreneurial stint, and the motivation behind your YouTube channel to offer you more personalized guidance.

At Team FLY, we are a collective of ISB alumni dedicated to supporting prospective MBA applicants with profile positioning, essay reviews and interview preparation.

In summary, we believe your profile shows good potential. To help us understand your background and goals better and offer specific suggestions on how to strengthen your score and other aspects of your profile, please feel free to book a 15 minute free session for a detailed discussion with us:
