Hi,
Your profile reflects a strong blend of academics, professional experience, and extracurricular leadership; which is certainly highly-valued by ISB. Your GMAT FE score of 645 is within a range where many candidates have successfully secured interviews in Round 2 at ISB. Your academic background, coupled with your work-ex and impactful extracurriculars, make you a well-rounded candidate. Applying for Round 2 is certainly a viable option but even with your current score, presenting a compelling story in your essays and showcasing how your experiences align with ISB’s values can make a significant difference.
Our team at MBA Gully can help refine your application strategy and craft essays that highlight your unique strengths. With our personalized guidance, we’ve seen candidates like you turn solid profiles into outstanding applications that catch the attention of the admissions committee.
At MBA Gully, we have successfully worked with many candidates with similar profiles, and you seem to be a great fit not just for ISB but for other top B-schools as well. Our team of consultants, 5 of whom are ISB alumni, will be happy to guide you through the application process, help you refine your essays, and prepare for interviews to maximize your chances of admission.

Feel free to reach out for more personalized advice or any further questions you may have!
📞 Phone: +91 98180 66324

Best of luck with your decision!

Warm regards,
The MBA Gully Team

Hello, I am looking for a profile evaluation before applying for ISB this year.

GMAT FE: 645

Work Experience: 25 Months (FTE) + 6 Months (Internship) @ McKinsey&Company as Engineer/ Product Analyst (1st Promotion in <1.5 years)

Class 12th: 88% (CBSE)
Class 10th: CGPA 10 (CBSE)
Academic Publications: 2

  • Impact of Remote Radio Head on 5G Open-RAN Technology | IEEE
  • DECT-2020 New Radio System Level Assessment for Multi-Hop Assisted mMTC usage Scenario | IEEE
Extra Curriculars:

University:

  • Vice-Chairperson (highest position for UG student) - IEEE SNU Chapter
  • SPIC MACAY Chapter - Volunteer
  • Associate Member, Food Committee.
  • Tennis Team - Falcons
HighSchool

  • HeadBoy - Student Prefectorial Body (Class XII)
  • Literary Captain - Student Prefectorial Body (Class XI) + Chief Editor - School Newsletter and Magazine
  • Tennis Team Captain
I’m thinking of applying in Round 2 for ISB since I only have 10 days to finish my essays and submit my Round 1 application. With my current GMAT score, do you think I have a good chance of getting an interview if I apply in Round 2, or should I go ahead and apply in Round 1? I’m also considering retaking the GMAT, but I’m not entirely sure I can boost my score. What would you suggest I do?

I'd appreciate your advice!

Thank you!

Hello sherlocked221B,

Thanks for writing in.

Your fine academic background, McKinsey experience, decent extra-curricular activities are bound to give you a number of talking points; we are certain you will have impactful stories to share as well.

Having said the above, the GMAT is definitely on the lower side; so, if you feel confident about making an improvement (before Round 2), you might want to apply in Round 2; however, if you are not confident that you will achieve your target score in a re-attempt, it would just make sense to apply in Round 1 (when chances are always higher); of course, the ISB application is extensive and you need to be sure that you are ready with all the application material particularly the essays.

The following video might prove to be of help:

Thanks.

All the best!

Dear sherlocked221B,

We want to start by emphasizing that the admissions committee evaluates candidates from multiple perspectives, including work experience, academics, extracurricular activities, and GMAT scores. Remember, the GMAT score is just one piece of the puzzle.

In your profile, we see notable strengths:
  • Fast-tracked career growth that demonstrates your potential and ambition.
  • Strong academic performance during your undergraduate studies, complemented by two academic publications, which is impressive and adds depth to your profile.
These factors lead us to believe that your profile holds significant potential for admission. Regarding your GMAT score, whether or not you should re-attempt the exam depends on how your actual score compares to your mock test performances. If you have consistently scored higher in your mocks than your current score, it may be worth considering a re-attempt to aim for a higher score. However, if your scores are consistent, we encourage you to have confidence in your application and present your best self.

We would love to learn more about your profile and assist you throughout your application journey. At Team FLY, we are a collective of ISB alumni dedicated to supporting prospective ISB candidates with profile positioning, essay critiques, and interview preparations.

Feel free to book a 15-minute free session for a detailed discussion with us: https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min

Additionally, we are excited to announce the launch of our website, where we are currently offering an inaugural discount of 20% on all our services. Check us out at: https://www.teamfly.org/

With warm regards,
Team Fly

Hi sherlocked221B
I am Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, a 645 is kind of okayish. I would recommend going in for R2 and applying with an increased score. Aim for atleast a 675 or above. This score will greatly enhance your chances of securing an admit. Apart from that R2 will give you ample time to revisit every part of application in case you are not able to increase your score. Pay special emphasis on the impact you have created at workplace and highlight any leadership roles that you undertook. The impact thing is a big plus, and it highly impresses the adcoms. Being promoted in under 1.5 years is another significant achievement, and it shows that you have been recognized early for your contributions.
